From February 7^th to 11^th, 2011 will take place the Fourteenth edition of the Informática 2011 Convention and International Fair. The Fair will have effect again in the PABEXPO fairground, very near to the Palacio de Convenciones. Inside of the exhibit’s main pavilion - because of the acceptance and impact it had during the past edition – a central exhibit hall will be presented, where visitors will appreciate a sample including the latest Technologies and Solutions developed in our country, which we will call  "PANORAMA DE LAS TIC EN CUBA" (ITC’s PANORAMA IN CUBA).

For the project’s selection (products, services, integrated solutions, applications, among others) that will be presented in the central hall, the Organizing Committee, on behalf of the Ministry of Informatics and Communications, calls all entities in the country to participate in this Selection Contest. The main objectives are:

- Promoting the participation of national entities and personal related to the ICT’s development in the country, turning it into an encouragement for the creative, innovative and scientific-technical process both in the areas of production and services.

- Exhibiting and divulging the main developments in the ICT area, which are being - or have been - produced in CUBA, and at the same time illustrate about the advances our society is achieving in such an important area of the knowledge industry.

CONTEST’s BASES

Contest’s objective
To select the projects, linked to the different ICT areas, that have been conceived and developed in the country, looking for a national or sectorial solution, and due to its quality and novelty making them worthy representatives of the development achieved, and deserving to be represented in the stand “PANORAMA DE LAS TIC EN CUBA”, which will be the center of the Informática 2011 Fair.

During the projects’ selection will be taken into account, among other aspects, those fulfilling one or more characteristics of the following:
 -  Being innovative projects or solutions.
 -  The contribution they offer to increase our country’s “know how”, with a development of its own and national integration, and making feasible the continuing advance on the road to achieve the technologic sovereignty.
 -  To have a high added value; being products, services, or solutions with a great contribution of knowledge as its main value.
 -  Contribution to the strategic objectives for the country’s imports replacement and/or exports.
 -  Solutions our country has applied or developed for the integrationist block Alianza Bolivariana para los Pueblos de Nuestra América (ALBA) (Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America) or other international markets.

On the participants
Enterprises, institutions, entities or Cuban project teams linked to the ICT development in the country independently of the sector they belong to, can participate.

On the Project’s presentation
 -  Projects may be related to the production or services sectors, providing solutions linked to telecommunications, informatics systems and services, software production, automation, medical equipment and to electronics in general.
 -  Their scope may be national, or at least sectorial.
 -  The presentation to the Jury will be in original and in digital format. The projects’ fundaments shall be delivered in Word 2003 format with typography Arial 12, space 1, 5. Additionally a summary of the project shall be included.
 -  The document must include the following data: name and surnames of each participant of the working team and their academic degree, entity they are representing and the State Central Administrative Organization they belong to, as well as other data of interest they may consider. 
 -  The project will be delivered by e-mail to the following address: informaticahabana@mic.cu
 -  The Project shall be accompanied with printing, audiovisuals, photos, samples, etc., otherwise, the participants shall have the conditions for elaborating them.

Admission period
The admission period expires on September 30^th 2010.

On the Jury
The Jury will include the event’s Organizing Committee and specialists of renowned prestige in the ICT activities. Their decision will be non-appealable and the results of the deliberations will be available on October 31^st, 2010.

Awards to be delivered
The main recognition to be awarded will be the selection and credit derived from the fact of representing the country through the project’s physical exhibition in the central exhibit hall "PANORAMA DE LAS TIC EN CUBA" during the Informática 2011 Fair, and the spreading and promotion derived from its presence in the national and international context the own event provides.

Each participant and award winner will receive a DIPLOMA as recognition, and a mention during the event’s inaugural session and the prize awarding ceremony.

The Organizing Committee will assume the design, assembly and all other costs associated with the central exhibit hall “PANORAMA DE LAS TIC EN CUBA", and therefore, also the ones related to the selected projects.
